This poor bastard of a project has been a work in progress for nearly a year. It consists of 252 crochet granny-squares. The breakdown is as follows:
Blue:108
Brown: 54
Red: 45
Yellow: 2
Flesh: 43
This is what's done as of right now:
Yellow: 2
Red: 45
Brown: 22
Which means I have an ass-ton more to go! Ugh. This is my Excel grid of what's done. I'm hoping to finish within a month or two. I'm still in search for the elusive Flesh-toned color. It's been hard to find in a worsted weight wool blend. I'll find it, though!
1- I want one.
ReplyDelete2- If this looks as awesome as I think it will look when you're done then I will take my comment on the previous entry back and apologise for calling you a grandma and spinster.
3- I want my Mario to be Super Mario 3 w/ the tail.
I WAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNT ONE! Ok, so I take back my previous comment. Please make me one. I will buy your crazy yarn and a crazy cat, too. But, can you make it the Mario from #3 with raccoon ears and tail, with him in flight? I can send you the picture I'm talking about.
ReplyDeletePretttty prettttty pleeeeeeeaaaaaase with pickles on the side?
I'll make you a Mario blanket if you still want one.
DeleteOnly because you added pickles on the side. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI can make these too. Did a Mario for one son a luigi for the other and a peach for my girl. I love making them!
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice big project to take one if you have a lot of free time to sit and crochet. If I ever have to crochet that many granny squares again, I'll make them smaller.
DeleteI make my squares 4 rows and my blankets are over 6 ft tall
ReplyDeleteIf your still having trouble finding flesh colored yarn, buy white and dye it the color you want.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! Next time I have a problem finding the color I want, I'll keep that in mind. It would have made life a lot easier!
DeleteIve got 56 squares to go till Im finished!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Throw up a picture when you're done!
DeleteWill do!
DeleteHi. How many rows are each square and which size of needle and yarn are you using ?
ReplyDeleteHi, Carla! There are a total of 6 rows in each square (3 times around from the middle). Does that make any sense? I'm terrible with the crochet lingo! I used worsted weight Lion Brand Wool Ease with a J-10 (6mm) hook.
Delete(Here's a link to a pic of one of the skeins. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Vy9VxZYjbvs/TotbNMrWZ2I/AAAAAAAAA8Q/b0vESb9soXM/s1600/IMAG0025.jpg)
hi i love it. can you tell me how you are putting the squares together so that the colors don't overlap each other??
